Sunday Grocery Reset

One of my favorite things to do on a reset day is grocery shop.

I’m super passionate about the food that goes into my body. I go for grass-fed, organic, raw, refined sugar free, seed-oil free, non processed, and whole foods. Here is my compiled list of the foods I always purchase when it’s time to restock on the basics.

You can always find a pack of three in my freezer. It’s my go-to lean beef to have on hand. Plus- it comes out to $6.49/1lb.

Benefits include

  • Omega-3 essential fatty acids

  • contains CLA (Conjugated Linoleic Acid) proven to boost immunity

  • helps regulate blood sugar levels

  • No GMOS or artificial hormones

Looking to switch out refined sugars? Opt for monk fruit. I use it daily in my coffee and can’t even tell it’s not sugar.

Benefits include

  • anti-inflammatory

  • doesn’t affect blood sugar

  • anticancer properties

  • helps fight against infections with its antibiotic properties

Cottage cheese is on the RISE lately. We know it makes hitting your protein intake a bit easier, but do we know how versatile it is to cook with? I love thinking of cottage cheese as a ricotta cheese replacement, rather than a yogurt. When you warm it up, it gets alittle oozy and stringy just like a cheese, but with a ricotta cheese flavor. Delicious in pasta, eggs, creamy dips, and pretty much anything you can add cream too.

Now I know what your thinking- isn’t cow milk terrible for you?! Well if it’s from a grocery store and has the label “pasteurized” than yes! But raw, unpasteurized milk is one of the greatest things for your body.

Back in the day, there wasn’t such thing as Raw milk because ALL milk was considered raw. It was just simply milk. These days, milk found in grocery stores is ultra-pasteurized, killing any bit of vitamins and nutrients.

If you’re a local to Miami, the Southwest Ranches Farmers Market has an incredible Raw Milk, delivered fresh every Tuesday, un-processed and free from preservatives or additives

I always have one of these on hand. I love to cook using bone broth when I’m making chicken dishes on a pan, frying up onions and veggies, or baking in a dutch oven. It keeps in the moisture and provides incredible health benefits like collagen, vitamins, and protein.

Did you know one tablespoon of sauerkraut can provide more probiotics than a supplement ever could? Not only does it contain probiotics, it also contains prebiotics and postbiotics.

Lauryn Bosstick (founder of The Skinny Confidential) eats a bowl of grass-fed beef with a tablespoon of sauerkraut DAILY for all the health benefits it provides!
